Check it out. I was picked as the Picture of the Week over at the Illustration Friday site. As you may know, every week I take part in Illustration Friday. For another day or so, you can see me there on the front page, showing off my work. Don’t worry if you miss it, the above picture will be here for a long time.
Thanks, Illustration Friday, I like you too.
Check out the my (sorta) award winning picture.

I hope you like it. As a bonus, there are two film quotes in this Thursday’s episode. The first person to comment with the two movies they are from, wins a print of this:
It’s 4×6 inches printed on nice archival paper with quality inks. Postage is covered, you don’t have to come by my place to pick it up or anything. But if you’re in Portland, Oregon, maybe we could meet at that new Korean taco truck that’s opening. I want to try that.

I learned something this week: If you’re going to put a little texture on the ground, think twice before sending your characters underground. No matter how simple the drawing style is (see graphics above), it will take for freaking ever to finish.

If check MIGHTY EPIC! part one, you’ll notice a huge change in drawing. I so want to go back and change part one, but keeping to my Trondheim-ian tradition of drawing straight through to learn about comics, I will not … but I so want to.
Oh, what will those knights get into next time.

Adolescent Radioactive Blackbelt Hamsters were a knock-off of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I really enjoyed this comic way back in the past. The picture on the left is my trying out some painting, using the original on the right as a basis. I never noticed how 80s that logo was until I had to copy it.

I read that Lewis Trondheim drew a 500 page comic straight through to learn how to make comics. Also, I went to the Stumptown Comic Fest last weekend. Put those two sentences together, and we get MIGHTY EPIC! My new web comic.

I can see things that will have to change, but taking the Trondheim-ian example, what’s posted it posted. I can only move forward.
